Porsche Rennsport Reunion Breaks Attendance Record
Porsche drivers understand that driving a Porsche isn’t just about the luxury features in the vehicle. It’s also about joining a unique fraternity of people who have similar interests and values. Porsche recently had a huge turnout at the Rennsport Reunion VI, breaking the attendance record that had previously been in place.

The Rennsport Reunion is the world’s largest Porsche festival, and for 2018, it took place at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Secan near Monterey, CA, for four days back in September. The event included races around the track with multiple Porsche models, both new and retro, while spectators also browsed the display of more than 2,500 different vehicles on exhibit. Champion drivers were also available at the event for meet-and-greets and to sign autographs.

The attendance for the event was recorded at an impressive 81,550 people and was the highest attendance at the track in five years. Perhaps the key moment of the event was when Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG, drove the original 356 “No. 1” Roadster on the track. Dr. Wolfgang Porsche is the son of Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche, the man who built the first Porsche sports car. Driving the car that bore he and his father’s namesake is a moment that will be engraved in the memories of spectators forever.
Rennsport has honored the Porsche motorsport legacy since 2001, and continues to be a popular event every year. To learn more about the event or to find out when and where the next one will be, contact us here at Porsche of Colorado Springs!
