Also referred to as the “Race to the Clouds,” the hill climb is an invitational automobile and motorcycle hill climb to the summit of Pike’s Peak, the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The 12.42-mile stretch of road boasts 156 turns and climbs 4,720 ft., starting at an altitude of 9,390 ft. and reaching 14,115 ft. at the peak. The intense altitude change poses a unique challenge to competitors, as the thin air slows reflexes and robs internal combustion engines of up to 30% power. The esteemed event holds rank as America’s second-oldest auto race and takes place right on our home turf just outside of Colorado Springs. Year after year, our staff at Porsche of Colorado Springs works to prepare top-condition vehicles to meet the challenge.
