G-Series Porsche Classic Models at Porsche of Colorado Springs

Labeled the G-Series by the Porsche community, the second era of 911 models remains the longest-running generation to date, spanning from 1973 to 1989. Over the 17-year period, nearly 200,000 G-model vehicles were sold. Lapping into the Super Carrera’s second year on the market, the 1979 Porsche 911 SC carried an updated version of its 3.0-liter flat engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The fine-tuning lifted max power to 188 bhp from the model’s original 180 bhp. Other defining features include:

1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

For 1984, the Carrera got an updated 3.2-liter flat six, producing 207 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque using regular unleaded fuel. In 1987, the Carrera’s engine returned to running on premium-unleaded fuel, which increased horsepower to 217 and torque to 195 lb.-ft. Other updates seen in the 1988 911 Cabriolet include:
